When to go:

When Levante is blowing (Easterly winds)

This spot is perfect for Levante winds. At this spot Levante blows side-shore or side-offshore depending a bit on the day. Nevertheless, if you do not go riding to far out on the sea, whenever you have a problem the wind will take you to the Sand Dune of Punta Paloma.

This wind hits the coast all year around but once it picks above 35-40 knotts it becomes extremely gusty. Then it is better to head for Caños de Meca.

With Thermal Poniente

If there is no wind blowing in all of Tarifa but the sun is heating up, this will be the place where you can first ride and sometimos the only place. This is only true in Spring and Summer and whenever this happens there are never more than 25 knotts.

Distance from Tarifa town:
Valdevaqueros is 12 kilometers away from Tarifa going towards Cádiz. Look for a place called Explora on the mountain side of the road. Once you have seen it you are almost there. Keep on going for 150m. Then you will find a “bracket” which will allow you, after doing the Stop Signal, to cross the road to go to Chiringuito Tangana or to drive back 100m to enter the Club Mistral.

Prohibited areas:

Kiting is allowed in Valdevaqueros all year around. Despite that, we Kiters share the beach with other users such as Windsurfers and bathers. Thus there are signs telling us which part of the beach is for each sort of user. Respect those signs to avoid getting a fine.

Parking facilities:

people leave their cars either in Club Mistral or in the Chiringuito Tangana car parks.
Be aware that after Easter time you will have to pay 2€ to leave your car there.
